Main Toolbar

This is where you access the main menu, view and edit the project name, check the FPS, stop, or play the rendering, load examples, access this documentation or setup audio and MIDI inputs.

Main menu: Brings up the main menu, which includes various options like saving projects, settings, etc.

FPS read-out and Play/Pause control. Click the FPS to bring up a detailed overview of the current performance, or change the target FPS.

The shuffle button loads a random example project. Useful if you're looking for inspiration. Alternatively, you can explore all available example projects (70+) from the main menu, ExamplesBrowse All. Shortcut is Ctrl/Cmd+E

Export the rendering to a movie file. Alternatively, hover the Rendering view and click on the Record button.

MIDI Settings: Click to configure MIDI devices and controllers. The button automatically appears when MIDI devices are detected or become available and remains hidden if there are no available MIDI devices. Read more about how to setup MIDI on our How to MIDI sync guide.

Audio Settings: Click to configure audio input devices and view the frequency analyser of the incoming audio signal. The button is grayed out when no audio device is active. Learn more on how to sync your visuals with audio, on our How to Audio sync guide.

You'll find the User Toolbar on the right side. Use it to log in or sign up with a new account.

Once you're logged in, click your username to access your saved projects. Learn more on Saving Your Work.

Render View

The Render View is where your final visuals appear. Hover to reveal controls for adjusting the aspect ratio, recording video, taking screenshots, opening an external display, or entering fullscreen. Drag the window to move it, or drag its top-left corner to resize it.

circle-info

The Render View only appears when there's something to render — for example, after adding a shape node like Circle or Square to the Editor.

Editor Area

The rest of the screen is the Editor, where you build your graph by adding and connecting nodes. In the next chapter, we’ll cover everything you need to know about the Editor in detail.

Feedback Button

Located in the bottom-left corner of the Editor. Click to provide feedback, report issues, or suggest improvements.
